SARMATIA ANNOUNCES TENDER TO COMPLETE ODESA-BRODY OIL PIPELINE

The Ukrainian-Polish concern Sarmatia set up to build the Odesa-Brody-Gdansk oil pipeline to supply Сaspian oil to the EU has announced a tender for conducting a feasibility study for the Eurasian Oil Transport Corridor. The cost of the study is estimated at under USD 2 M. The companies interested in the tender are to submit their applications before March 18, 2008.

Experts maintain that the Odesa-Brody pipeline may begin operating in late 2011 if necessary volumes of Caspian oil are available.

On October 10, 2007 state oil and oil transport companies Socar (Azerbaijan), Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC, Georgia), Klaipedos Nafta (Lithuania), PERN Przyjazn (Poland), and Ukrtransnafta (Ukraine) signed a corporate agreement to join the Sarmatia. Socar, GOGC, and Klaipedos Nafta joined the ranks of Sarmatia stakeholders in early 2008.
